Swansea can beat Fulham - Jenkins

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins is pleased with a 'rare' home draw

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins says Swansea can claim another Premier League scalp by beating Fulham in the FA Cup fifth round.

The Swans earned the home draw after knocking holders Portsmouth out of the Cup, while Fulham needed two late goals to get past non-league Kettering.

"It should be great to play against Fulham and it gives us every chance," said Jenkins.

"If we play to our ability, we've got a fair chance of beating them."

The match will also see midfielder Darren Pratley reunited with his former club.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Swans from Fulham for £100,000 in 2006, said: "That's the club I wanted.

"For me personally, Fulham was the number I was looking out for and luckily we got them."

Fulham will be the second Premier League team to visit the Liberty Stadium this season.

Earlier this season, the Swans knocked Hull out of the Carling Cup with a 2-1 victory after their second round fixture went to extra time.

But it will not be Fulham's first trip to the Liberty as they played in the opening match at the stadium in 2005 when Chris Coleman was in charge.

Steed Malbranque scored the first goal before Marc Goodfellow levelled for the Swans in the 1-1 pre-season friendly draw.

Since then, Fulham have dispensed of the services of Coleman and his successor Lawrie Sanchez as London club has struggled to hold on to their Premier league status.

Swansea themselves have seen changes with manager Roberto Martinez coming in for Kenny Jackett and leading the Welsh side to the Championship last season.

The Swans have been widely hailed as playing the best football in the division and manager Roberto Martinez is pleased with the plaudits.

But he said: "We don't work on daily basis to get compliments.

"We work on a daily basis to be able to win football games in a certain way and get us up the league and hoping to reach the dream of Premier League football.

"In that respect, all these compliments go to the players , they deserve it."
