Owain Tudur Jones has won three international caps for Wales
Swansea City midfielder Owain Tudur Jones is considering going out on loan to enhance his international ambitions.
Teenage sensation Joe Allen is ahead of Tudur Jones in Swans boss Roberto Martinez's midfield pecking order.
The 18-year-old's impressive displays could earn Allen his first Wales call next month at Tudur Jones' expense.
"I feel as if I have to go out on loan," said Welshman Tudur Jones. "I need a run of games... I've got to look at the situation with Wales."
John Toshack names his next Wales squad on 6 February for their friendly game against Poland in Portugal and Tudur Jones wants to add to his three Welsh caps.
The 24-year-old was overlooked by Martinez in Saturday's 2-0 Championship victory over Reading despite the Swansea manager being without midfield duo Ferrie Bodde and Leon Britton.
"I thought I had a chance of getting into the team," Tudur Jones told BBC Sport.
"I'm disappointed I did not play but I'm really happy that the boys won and the manner of their performance as it moved us closer to the play-off positions.
"Joe Allen is in front of me in Wales reckoning and I've no problem with that because Joe is the one that is out there on the park, putting in good performances and showing a lot of confidence."
But Martinez has made it clear he will not let Tudur Jones go out on loan at the moment.
Young prodigy Allen has been a revelation since Martinez gave him a regular first-team chance last month and his performances have earned him man-of-the-match accolades.
Tudur Jones, who made his international bow against Luxembourg in March 2008, signed for Swansea from Welsh Premier side Bangor City in 2005 but his Liberty Stadium career has been beset by serious knee injuries.
But the one-time Chelsea trialist has been injury-free this season and wants to make up for lost time.
"I have to balance the success of the team with my own personal situation," said Tudur Jones.
"So going out on loan is something I must consider."
