Best is still to come - Pintado

Gorka Pintado
Pintado scored the Swans third goal four minutes from time

Gorka Pintado says his best goals are still to come despite a stunning debut strike for Swansea City in their 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest.

The 30-year-old Spaniard sent Mark Gower's cross from the left past Forest keeper Paul Smith with the outside of his right foot.

"It's not the best goal I've scored but a very important one," said the Spaniard through an interpreter.

"I do hope to score more goals better than this."

Pintado joined the Swans in the summer from Spanish Segunda B side Granada for a fee of 70,000.

And boss Roberto Martinez says he has already re-paid his fee after his 24-minute show as a substitute on Saturday.

"Gorka is a hungry player, he has given up everything to play for Swansea City and when you have got people who are desperate to win games for the club, that's a recipe for success," he said.

"His goal is a good a goal you will see at any level.

"There are strikers around who could score goals like that but they cost 6m or 7m. He has already re-paid the 70,000 fee.

"Gorka is going to lead the line with style. He is the complete player and is going to give us a different dimension."
