Swansea City were outclassed by La Liga side Espanyol as they crashed to a heavy defeat in the first match of their Spanish tour.
The Swans made a good start to the game and were only 1-0 down at half-time thanks to a goal from Raul Tamudo.
But Espanyol's extra quality proved decisive as Jonathan Soriano's strike and a brace from Albert Riera earned the hosts victory.
Swansea play another friendly against lower-division Peralada on Saturday.
The Swans changed the entire team at half-time, with Wales Under-21 midfielder Shaun MacDonald particularly impressive during the second period.
Swansea manager Roberto Martinez said: "Obviously I'm disappointed with the result, but it was exactly the kind of test we needed."
