Roberto Martinez has enjoyed his first full season in charge

Roberto Martinez has won the League Mangers Association's manager of the year award for League One.

In his first full season in charge, the Spaniard has been led the club into the Championship after a 24-year absence.

Swansea finished top of League One with a club record 92 points - 10 points ahead of their nearest rivals.

"It is a huge honour," said Martinez. "I accept the recognition in the name of Swansea City and everyone connected with the club."

He added: "It represents the hard work of the players and how much we have progressed as a football club."

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson won the League Managers' Association manager of the year award in the Premier League after winning his 10th title.

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray took the Championship award after guiding the Baggies to the title.

Hereford's Graham Turner lifted the League Two award after taking Hereford to their second promotion in three seasons with the Bulls returning from non-league in 2006.
