Warren Feeney spent four months on loan at Swansea this season |
Swansea boss Roberto Martinez has ruled out signing Cardiff striker Warren Feeney on a permanent basis during the January transfer window. The Northern Ireland international is back at Ninian Park recovering from an ankle injury sustained at the end of his four-month loan spell with Swansea.
Feeney still has two and a half years left on his Cardiff contract.
"It seems as though it's going to be very, very difficult to agree something over Warren," Martinez said.
However, Martinez told the Swansea website that while any permanent move for Feeney had been shelved for the moment, it could be revitalised for next season.

Feeney scored six goals in 13 games on loan for the Swans between September and December.
"We will be looking at the next transfer window in the summer for that one, so we'll see what develops," Martinez said.
"That means we need to replace Warren now if we can, although Guillem Bauza has taken his opportunity very well in recent weeks and linked up really well with Jason Scotland on Saturday.''
One possible target is unsettled Blackpool forward Keigan Parker, who will be out of contract with the north west club this summer.
Blackpool agreed a fee with Championship rivals Barnsley for the 25-year-old Scotsman last week but Parker was unable to agree personal terms with the Tykes.
