Pawel Abbott made his Swansea debut in the win over Gillingham |
Swansea boss Kenny Jackett says the early signs are good that new striker Pawel Abbott will fit into the team. Abbott made his Swans debut as a late substitute in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Gillingham, replacing Bayo Akinfenwa to join Lee Trundle in attack.
"Pawel is a player who could play either with Lee or with Bayo and that's a nice combination," Jackett said.
"He has the ability to get in behind defenders, he's sharp onto things and has a terrific goal-scoring record."
The win put Swansea back into the League One promotion play-off places, but Jackett admitted they were made to work hard for the three points.
"Gillingham caused us lots of problems, particularly from set-pieces, but we came through and scored two terrific goals," Jackett added.
