Amankwaah turned down a new deal at the Glovers |
Swansea have signed Kevin Amankwaah for an undisclosed fee after the full-back turned down a new Yeovil contract. The London-born 24-year-old, who had one year left on his Huish Park deal, is available to play in Saturday's friendly at Exeter.
"He is a strong, committed player who can not only defend but loves to go forward," Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins told the club's official website.
Amankwaah started his career at Bristol City as a trainee.
He had loan spells with Torquay and Cheltenham before moving to Yeovil.
On Thursday, Glovers manager Russell Slade insisted the defender was "very happy" at Huish Park, and claimed that he wanted to stay.
