Leon Britton's goal helped Swansea beat Colchester to reach the final |
Swansea City are expecting their fans to travel in their droves to Cardiff for next month's LDV Vans Trophy final. Kenny Jackett's side will play Carlisle on Sunday, 2 April.
"It's the last time the final will be at the Millennium Stadium so I'm sure the fans have been willing us to get there," said Swans coach Kevin Nugent.
"It's going to be a really good day out for them. I'm sure they're going to go their in their numbers and take over Cardiff for the day."
Swansea beat League One promotion rivals Colchester 2-1 in the second leg of their area final on Tuesday night to win through 3-1 on aggregate.
It will be Swansea's first major final since they won the trophy by beating Huddersfield at Wembley in 1994.
Nugent added: "It's a fantastic achievement and on a financial basis it's going to be very good as well.
"From the players' point of view, it's a great competition to get to the final of because of the chance to play in a great stadium in front of a massive crowd.
"But they won't be just going for a day out. Hopefully the fans will enjoy it but we're going to win the competition."
Swansea's main concern this season, though, is winning promotion to the Championship.
But captain Roberto Martinez says the LDV Vans Trophy run does have its benefits.
"It's the kind of distraction you want," Martinez told BBC Wales Sport.
"When you get the opportunity to give something back to the supporters I think you can turn that distraction into something positive.
"And it might be a bit of a confidence boost for our league form."
