Trundle turned down a number of offers to join Swansea City |
Wrexham striker Lee Trundle has ended speculation about his future by rejoining former manager Brian Flynn at Swansea in a one-year deal. Flynn was the man who gave Trundle his chance in league football, bringing him to the Racecourse from Rhyl in February 2001.
Trundle admitted that Flynn's presence at Swansea was a major influence in his decision to come to the Vetch.
"I've worked with the gaffer (Flynn) and Kevin (Reeves) before and I know how they work," Trundle told BBC Sport.
"I know they can get the best out of me. I haven't come here to stand still; I've come to progress as a player."
Trundle, 27, played a key role in Wrexham's promotion from the Third Division last season, notching 11 league goals.
Wrexham offered him a new two-year contract, but could not compete with the wages offered by Swansea.
The Dragons would have also been forced to pay an additional 20,000 to Rhyl if Trundle had signed a new contract with them.
The void left by the departure of Trundle and fellow striker Andy Morrell from Wrexham has already been filled by Chris Llewellyn and Chris Armstrong.
Swansea director of football Flynn was delighted at the capture of Trundle - who was also wanted by Tranmere, Oldham and Coventry - and with the way his squad is shaping up for the new season.

"It's a massive signing," Flynn told BBC Wales Sport. "I know he's going to do well and score goals.
"He's got the ability and potential to play at the highest level and can change a game in a second.
"He's different, he's a goal-scorer, but he's also a team player."
Flynn hinted that there were more new faces on their way to the Vetch ahead of the new season.
"We've signed 15 and we could do with a couple more," he said.
"We're particularly looking at the centre of defence, but I'm very happy with the way the squad is coming together."
Swansea have confirmed that The Travel House will be their official shirt sponsors for next season.
