Sunderland defender Alan Hutton has had a three-match ban reduced to one game following his red card during Saturday's 1-0 victory at Hull.

The Football Association reduced the severity of the suspension following an appeal by the Black Cats.

Hutton threw the ball at the Tigers' Jozy Altidore, who charged into the on-loan Tottenham defender with his head, leaving the Scot requiring treatment.

Referee Lee Probert dismissed both men over the incident.
