Delap is stretchered off against Sunderland |
Sunderland boss Roy Keane says Stoke will honour their commitment to sign double leg-break victim Rory Delap. The 30-year-old joined Stoke on loan last week, with a view to making the move permanent in January.
Delap will be out for six months after breaking his tibia and fibula in Stoke's win over Sunderland and will undergo rehab with the Potters.
Keane told Sunderland's website: "We had a gentleman's agreement with Stoke and they have been true to their word."
Stoke are yet to verify Keane's claim, but are expected to release a statement on Thursday confirming their desire to retain Delap's services.
Keane added: "Rory will do his rehab work with Stoke. He is on loan there and he will become a full-time Stoke player."
