Stranraer have released summer signing John Osborne after the striker failed to become a first-team regular.
"John had struggled to break into the side after pre-season and asked the club if he could be released," said a statement on the club website.
"He wanted to maintain his match fitness and ply his trade again at a slightly lower level.
"The club have reluctantly agreed to this and wish John all the very best for the future."
Osborne had signed for the Second Division club from junior outfit Lanark United.
Meanwhile, Stranraer have played down reports that the disappearance of their club website over the weekend was an indication of deepening financial problems at Stair Park.
The website is back up and running and contained a statement explaining its unavailability.
"It was down to a culmination of a couple of problems, none of which were down to the club itself," it said.
"The club website is funded by private donations and is operated through an American web hosting company and needs to be paid by a combination of bank transfer and card juggling.
"Because of the global banking problems, the transfer went through late and the website went down and remained down for the weekend."
The statement stressed that the club, which has admitted financial worries this season, had offered to pay to get the website re-instated.
