McLauchlan has been loaned out by Queens to Montrose

Cash-struck Stranraer have received a boost after a fee was agreed with Queen of the South for the transfer of defender Gerry McLauchlan.

The 19-year-old signed a pre-contract agreement with Queens in January and made the move to the First Division club during the summer.

And Stranraer's website stated: "After lengthy negotiations, a fee was agreed between the clubs.

"And the monies from the transfer were exchanged this week."

However, McLauchlan, who helped Stranraer win promotion to Division Two last season, has already been loaned out to Third Division Montrose after an indifferent start at Palmerston Park.
