Stoke City's luck will turn, says Thomas Sorensen

Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen believes that bad luck is to blame for the club's poor run of results.

The Potters have taken two points from their last six league games and failed to score in five of those matches.

Sorensen told BBC Radio Stoke: "It just seems that at the moment things aren't going for us up front. We look fairly solid but then we concede stupid goals.

"It's just that little bit of luck that we are missing. We just need to keep that spirit up and it will turn."

Stoke had been as high as eighth in the table after a promising start to the campaign, but their winless run, which stretches back to 22 November, has seen them drop to 12th and within three points of the relegation zone.

"Sometimes you hit these dry patches, and the key is not to get too down about it and just move on," said Sorensen.

"There's another Premier League game in a week's time [against Fulham on 5 January]. It's another home game and another chance for us to get a win."

Before that, non-league York City visit the Britannia Stadium on Saturday in the third round of the FA Cup.
