We surprised ourselves - O'Connor

Stoke City

Stoke City first-team coach Mark O'Connor has admitted their first season in the Premier League was beyond their "wildest dreams".

The Potters finished 12th in the table and were 11 points clear of third-from-bottom Newcastle United.

O'Connor told BBC Radio Stoke: "I don't think in our wildest dreams we thought we would have finished so high in the table but that was our aim."

Stoke have decided not to offer Wigan striker Henri Camara a permanent deal.

Another of member of last season's squad, Salif Diao, looks set to quit Stoke as well after revealing he is unhappy over the new terms on offer at the Britannia Stadium.

The former Liverpool and Birmingham City midfielder, who is out of contract this summer, has been plagued with injuries this season but featured in the final day defeat at Arsenal.

The Senegalese 32-year-old said: "At the moment I don't have a serious offer from Stoke so if I get an offer from somewhere else, I might be moving."
