Stoke City winger Liam Lawrence insists his team can still be relegated despite reaching 39 points with five games remaining of the Premier League season.
The 27-year-old scored the only goal in Stoke's win over Blackburn at the weekend that took them up to 11th in the league table.
Lawrence told BBC Radio Stoke: "We're not safe, not until it's mathematically impossible for us to go down.
"We need 40-plus points, and I think we can achieve that."
It was the former Mansfield and Sunderland midfielder's second goal of the season, after he scored their first ever Premier League goal at the Britannia Stadium in August against Aston Villa.
"It's been a while, I've been out for some time, and I feel like I'm just coming back to the form I showed last season," he said.
Last season's Potters player of the year missed three months of the current campaign after injuring himself stepping over his dog at his home in September.
