Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has said he will speak to striker Dave Kitson about rumours that he is unsettled at the Britannia Stadium.
Several national newspapers have reported Kitson, who joined the Potters from Reading in July, is unhappy living in the north of England.
Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke: "I don't know anything about this but I will speak to Dave.
"I want to know if this is just newspaper speculation."
Kitson cost the Potters a club record 5.5m but has yet to score a competitive goal in a Stoke shirt.
But Pulis said the 28-year-old is doing a valuable job for the team.
"We want him to drop in and help out in the middle because against the better teams the one thing you can't do is get outnumbered in midfield.
"Dave has done that well but we need to get him in the box more to give him the opportunity to score goals."
