Stockport County defender James Tunnicliffe has signed a contract extension with the club. The new deal will keep him at Edgeley Park until summer 2009.
The 19-year-old, who turned down the chance to join Southampton last year, told the club's website: "I'm delighted to sign a new deal.
"I honestly feel we can push for promotion. Personally I'm developing well, if I can get a few games then I can push on from there."
Tunnicliffe is a product of Stockport's Centre of Excellence and made his first team debut at the age of 16. He has made just three substitute appearances for County this season due to injury.
