Stockport defender James Tunnicliffe has returned to Edgeley Park after Liverpool declined their option to sign the 16-year-old. Tunnicliffe spent eight days on trial at Anfield, but Liverpool chief scout Frank McParland said: "He's not quite what we're looking for."
Boss Chris Turner told Stockport's website: "He's benefited from the whole experience at Liverpool.
"He'll get every opportunity to force his way into our first-team squad."
