Hampshire joins exodus to Stenny
Steven Hampshire
Brechin wanted Steven Hampshire to stay at Glebe Park
Striker Steven Hampshire has become Stenhousemuir's third capture of the week from Brechin City.

Goalkeeper John Hillcoat and midfielder Steven Ferguson had already been confirmed as signings for next term.

Now 27-year-old former Chelsea and Dunfermline forward Hampshire has decided to make the move from the Division Two club to Division Three.

Brechin had hoped to hold on to Hampshire and Stenny say he had other offers from higher-league clubs.

City boss Michael O'Neill told his club website that Hampshire had been unable to balance his work commitments with his football at Glebe Park.

"He has set up his own business and we knew there was a chance we would lose him," he said.

"He stays in Dunbar, south of Edinburgh, and it's not the easiest of commutes for a part-time player, especially when he has been doing it for four years."
