Chris Brindley scored Hednesford's winner in the 2004 FA Trophy final

Former Stafford Rangers defender Chris Brindley has confirmed that he is to return to the relegated club as assistant to manager Steve Bull.

The pair have been friends since they played for Wolves in the late 1980s.

Brindley, 38, also played for Telford United and Kidderminster Harriers before managing Hednesford Town's promotion to Conference North in 2005.

He is currently player-assistant manager to Paul Holleran at Southern League side Rushall Olympic.
