Southend United manager Paul Sturrock has defended his reaction to the Stockport goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw.
Sturrock was sent to the stands for his protests after an assistant referee initially flagged for offside but then changed his mind.
Sturrock told BBC Essex: "I do not feel any manager in the land would have done anything different from what I did.
"When we get hot-headed we might swear a bit but that whole situation needed somebody to swear."
Southend eventually came back to snatch a point after conceding the goal in Sturrock's first competitive match as manager of the Essex side.
Sturrock added: "Its not often I get upset with officials, I think most officials would agree with that, but this one got it wrong and I'm going to pay the penalty."
