Southend United striker Dougie Freedman is confident the Blues can recover from their poor start to the season.
Despite a debut goal from Freedman, 34, against Carlisle on Saturday, Southend lost 2-1 and lie 22nd in League One.
The former Crystal Palace striker told BBC Essex: "The performance was better, but the result was the same.
"If we can turn that around and start turning the performances into a few results and take some points from games, that will help our confidence."
Freedman took just 22 minutes to score for the Blues in his first game since joining from Palace.

"Our luck will change," Freedman added. "We've just got to keep on believing in what we're doing and keep on sticking together.
"When it does change, it's like a snowball effect and you start winning games that you shouldn't have."
