Sankofa is Southend's second summer signing

Southend have signed former Charlton defender Osei Sankofa.

The 23-year-old joins the club on a free transfer, having been released by the Addicks at the end of last season.

Sankofa is manager Steve Tilson's second signing of the summer following the arrival of goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall at Roots Hall.

The centre-back made 19 appearances for Charlton last season before ending the campaign on loan at Brentford, where he played 11 times.
