Southend boss Steve Tilson has admitted that the injury to defender Charlie Mulgrew is a "big blow" to his side.
The 22-year-old, who is on loan from Wolves, pulled his hamstring during Saturday's 2-1 win at Huddersfield.
Blues boss Tilson told BBC Essex: "It's a big blow for us because he gives us that balance on the left hand side with a bit of quality."
Anthony Grant and Lewis Hunt are expected to push for a starting place in Mulgrew's absence.
