Lallana hit 20 goals in all competitions for the Saints last season

Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana has agreed a new four-and-a-half-year deal with the League One side.

Lallana, 22, came through the Saints academy and broke into the first-team at the end of the 2007-08 season.

The former England under-21 man told the club website: "It didn't take me long to agree to sign really. I've always wanted to stay at Southampton.

"We've had a really good season so far and the foundations of the football club are brilliant."
