Southampton's FA Cup-winning captain Peter Rodrigues has said the club will be looking to repeat history by beating Manchester United in the third round.
Bobby Stokes scored the winning goal at Wembley in 1976 as Saints, then in the old Second Division, upset the odds.
Rodrigues told BBC Radio Solent: "This is a major game for Saints, it is their Cup final, they'll be up for it and the manager will get them going."
It is the ninth occasion the teams have been drawn together in the FA Cup.
The most recent encounter was the 2005 quarter-final at St Mary's which Sir Alex Ferguson's side won 4-0.
And Rodrigues added: "They will be up against players they will probably have looked at as kids and said: 'I want to play like Rio [Ferdinand], I want to play like [Wayne] Rooney'.
"All of a sudden these youngsters are there, it's a learning curve but it will be fantastic for them."
