Viafara has been linked to a move back to his homeland

Southampton midfielder Jhon Viafara has been excluded from training until his future plans are resolved.

The Colombian, 29, was hauled off during Tuesday's friendly against Weymouth after playing just 28 minutes and is believed to be keen to leave.

Viafara is reported to be close to rejoining his former club Once Caldas.

Saints boss Jan Poortvliet told BBC Radio Solent: "At the moment he is homesick and doesn't know what he wants in the future, so he is not involved."

Viafara joined Saints from Portsmouth in August 2006 and has played 85 games for the club.
