Shrewsbury Town aiming to go up - Roland Wycherley
Wycherley appointed Graham Turner as manager 12 months ago
Shrewsbury chairman Roland Wycherley says the club are determined to win promotion to League One next season.
Town reached the play-offs for the third time in five years this season but failed to secure promotion.
Wycherley assured fans: "The desire to play at a higher level is burning stronger than ever.
"[Boss] Graham Turner sought to change the squad, bringing in young players who've been given the chance to step up to the mark and how well they've done."
He added: "The infrastructure at this club is widely accepted to be ready for higher league football."
Manager Graham Turner confirmed the club's view, saying: "There's no doubt about the ambitions of the club.
"We've been talking to a number of potential signings, and players know we want to be among the frontrunners."
Turner rued missing out in the League Two play-offs as a possible put-off for League One players he has targeted.
But the Town boss added: "We've got the advantage of the great facilities and our reputation for helping and developing young players, so we're keeping a few plates in the air with possible signings."
