Shrewsbury's Ian Sharps does not expect instant return
Cansdell-Sherriff was previously club captain at Tranmere
Shrewsbury Town captain Ian Sharps says he knows his return to fitness does not guarantee a place back in the side.
Shane Cansdell-Sherriff has formed a good defensive partnership with Exodus Geohaghon, who joined on loan from Peterborough before the win over Crewe.
Sharps, who last played at the end of October, told BBC Radio Shropshire: "I know there's no guarantee of a place."
Cansdell-Sherriff added: "Exodus is a great player. We've been thrown together and we've gelled really well."
It's more experience and more football. I'm here until January and we'll have to see what happens then
Exodus Geohaghon
Cansdell-Sherriff and Geohaghon first played together against Crewe on 2 November, after the former Redditch and Kettering defender joined from Peterborough just hours before the game.
The pair also looked strong in the next game, the FA Cup tie at League One Southampton, where Town were unlucky to lose to two stoppage-time goals.
Geohaghon was signed as emergency cover for Sharps after the Town captain picked up a hamstring injury in the recent win over Barnet.
"I'm enjoying it," said Geohaghon. "It's more experience and more football. I'm here until January and we'll have to see what happens then."
