Graham Turner welcomes Shrewsbury Town Joe Hart cash
Hart made his first competitive England start against Bulgaria on Friday
Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner says he is in no rush to spend the £500,000 the club receives after Joe Hart made his first competitive start for England.
Town will get the money from Manchester City as part of the sell-on clause when Hart left Shrewsbury in 2006.
"That money coming in will be set aside for the needs if ever they arise," Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"Having been a chairman myself, I know how difficult it is to run a club at this level and keep it in the black."
He added: "So I've continued the habit of not spending money I don't feel is necessary to spend.
"If there's some good young players out there we feel could be an investment, the chairman, I have no doubts will back us with the finances to buy those players."
Hart made 53 appearances for Shrewsbury before making the move to Manchester City.
The 23-year-old played for England in their 4-0 win against Bulgaria at Wembley.
Turner thinks he will be around for a long time to come.
"I think he could be England's number one for the next ten years," he said.
