Dave Raven believes unity can win Shrewsbury promotion

Shrewsbury full-back David Raven has pointed to unity in Town's new-look squad as one of the reasons behind their good start to the season.

"We've gelled well, and there are no bad eggs," the summer signing from Carlisle told BBC Radio Shropshire,

"But the manager [Graham Turner] is pretty astute, and I think he'd get rid of anyone like that."

Since his appointment in June, Turner has led Shrewsbury to second in League Two after four games.

"I've worked under many coaches, but he's what I'd call a proper manager who has the respect of the dressing room," added Raven.

"You can't argue with his experience - I can't believe he's 62 - and he's out there on the training ground and he doesn't miss a trick.

"We've started really well, and we've got the talent to be up there at the end of the season."
