Grant Holt receives his BBC Radio Shropshire trophy from Steve Cross
Shrewsbury Town striker Grant Holt has been voted the BBC Radio Shropshire fans' player of the season.
He picked up his trophy from ex-Town favourite and BBC Shropshire summariser Steve Cross at Town's final home game - Saturday's 0-0 draw with Lincoln City.
"It's always great when the supporters understand what you've done and what you're trying to achieve," said Holt.
"Thanks to everyone who voted for me. It always means a great deal when you win awards from the supporters."
After each game, Shrewsbury fans were asked on air to vote for their man of the match.
Across the season, the vote was spread among many players - but Town's top scorer was nominated consistently.
Record £170,000 signing Holt, who has scored 27 goals in all competitions this season, needs one more to reach his career century.
"I want to score every game," he said. "But, as long as we can get into the play-offs, I don't care who scores."
