New Shrews signings Steve Hindmarch (left) and Paul Murray
Shrewsbury Town have made two end of season signings - midfielder Paul Murray and striker Steve Hindmarch.
"It's set up for big things here," said experienced Murray, 31, after signing on a free from Gretna. "And that's what I've come for - to get promotion.
"There's a lot of young talent but some experience and knowledge is needed."
Shrewsbury have also brought in teenage frontrunner Hindmarch, who was recently released by Town boss Paul Simpson's old club Carlisle United.
"I'm looking to prove what I can do for Paul Simpson," said Hindmarch. "And I feel I can break into the first team."
Hindmarch, 18, has made eight first team appearances for Carlisle, all from the bench, and had recently been targeted by newly-promoted Barrow.
Former England Under-21 international Murray, by contrast, has seen service at a string of clubs.
Having also started his career at Brunton Park, he got his big break when he moved to QPR for 300,000 in May 1996.
He then played for Southampton, Oldham and Portuguese side Beira Mar before returning to the border region to sign for Simpson back at Carlisle then, after a season at Brunton Park, just up the A74 at Gretna.
Meanwhile, loanee Asa Hall's permanent move from Birmingham City is expected to be finalised shortly.
