Langmead has been out of action with a knee injury
Kelvin Langmead is targeting a return to action for Shrewsbury Town before the end of the season.
The defender has been out for a month with a niggling knee injury, but has at last returned to training.
Manager Paul Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire Langmead had been his own worst enemy in his haste to get back.
"The trouble with Kelvin is he's too eager to play," he said. "It's a wear and tear injury, and had he rested it earlier it might've cleared up by now."
Langmead is unlikely to be ready for the weekend trip to Mansfield, but is pencilled in for a run-out for the reserves at Leicester on Monday.
"This weekend might be a bit too soon," admitted Simpson.
"But at least we've got to the bottom of the problem, and Kelvin should be ready for the next first-team game against Chester."
