Gary Peters - looking to increase Shrewsbury's 'goals for' record. |
Gary Peters says converting goal opportunities is vital to halting Shrewsbury Town's recent slide. "We created enough chances in the last 25 minutes to win not one but two games," the Town boss reflected after Saturday's 2-1 home defeat by Lincoln.
"We had three cleared off the line, and we've got to do better."
Town also face worries over two of their strikers. Dave Hibbert took a knock on the head against Lincoln, and Andy Cooke is still not fully fit.
Peters has promised an attacking policy - something boosted by the arrival of January signings Guy Madjo and James Constable, who came on for his Town debut, playing the final 40 minutes as an early second-half substitute for Hibbert.
"We should have won our last four games - but 'should' doesn't count," Peters told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"We've got to do better up front - and close the back door as well, so we don't get hit on the break like we did against Lincoln."
