New Sheffield Wednesday signing Darren Purse is hoping some of his experience rubs off on the club's young defenders.
Centre-back Purse, 32, will compete for a first-team place with Richard Wood, Mark Beevers and Richard Hinds.
Purse told BBC Radio Sheffield: "You look at the centre-halves they've got at the moment, all three are young.
"Usually you don't come into your own until you are in your late 20s. Hopefully I can pass on some of that experience to the younger defenders."
