Gilbert is one of several Wednesday players available for loan
Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws says defender Peter Gilbert and midfielder Wade Small can go on month-long loans.
"There are some players that need to go out on loan and I am not talking about the kids," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"I don't want them away at the Christmas period, I want them back before then. So I will see if I can get one or two out in the next week.
"There may even be another striker that I want to get out."
Laws also confirmed earlier this week that he would like to send young winger Rocky Lekaj out to gain first-team experience.
The 19-year-old has put together a string of good performances for the reserves this term and the club feel he would benefit from a spell at another club.
