Sheffield Wednesday captain Richard Wood has declared himself fit for their Steel City derby with Sheffield United on Sunday, 19 October.

The centre-back missed the defeat at Plymouth with a groin strain, but intensive treatment has now paid off.

"I have trained on Friday and had no problems at all. So a good week of training next week will get me ready," Wood, 23, told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"I'm not hopeful for the derby, I'm definitely playing, if picked anyway."
