Sheffield Wednesday keeper David Lucas has rejected the offer of a new contract and will leave Hillsborough when his deal end on 30 June. The 28-year-old made 80 appearances for the Owls after joining the club in June 2004 from Preston.
Manager Paul Sturrock told the club website: "I'm disappointed as David has done a fantastic job but he wants to be a free agent when he is fully fit.
"He will still have use of our medical facilities to recover from injury."
Lucas has been out of action since damaging knee ligaments in the win at Millwall in February and is not likely to play again until Christmas.
