Sheffield United expect to agree terms with former Barnsley striker Daniel Bogdanovic in the next few days.
The Blades have stressed that, despite some reports to the contrary, the Malta international has not yet signed a contract at Bramall Lane.
The 29-year-old, who is out of contract so would join the Blades on a free transfer this summer, is still to undergo a medical.
Bogdanovic previously said a move to Bramall Lane would be "a dream."
