Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell has described their over-reliance on loan signings as a "nonsense".
The Blades have used 17 loan players this season and sit in 10th place, nine points clear of the play-offs.
Blackwell told BBC Radio Sheffield: "You can't build a team on 17 loans. That's an absolute nonsense.
"We've got to start from scratch and bring in players who are Sheffield United players because we're jumping from crisis to crisis."
He said: "We've now got maybe three players with serious injuries that will see them into next season. That's a problem."
