McNulty had a loan spell at Scunthorpe last season

Scunthorpe have signed former Scotland Under-21 left-back Jim McNulty from Brighton on a six-month loan deal.

The 25-year-old, who made three loan appearances for the Iron towards the end of last season, is boss Nigel Adkins' fifth signing of the summer.

McNulty joined Brighton from Stockport for £150,000 in January 2009 but he suffered a serious injury in his fifth match resulting in him losing a kidney.

He has made 16 appearances in total for the Seagulls, scoring one goal.
