Grant McCann pulled out of the Northern Ireland side due to illness
Scunthorpe United midfielder Grant McCann faces a race to be fit to play against Leicester City at Glanford Park on Saturday.
It is the clash of the top two in League One and McCann is a doubt after pulling out of the Northern Ireland squad with a "flu-like" illness.
Iron boss Nigel Adkins told BBC Radio Humberside: "It's got to be a concern if he's missing the international game.
"We'll assess him on Friday and see how he is then."
Scunthorpe are hoping to have McCann on the training ground on Friday and the player has flown back home after being pulled out of Nigel Worthington's squad by the team doctor.
United will be without Sam Togwell for the visit of the Foxes to Glanford Park due to a one-match suspension after picking up five yellow cards this season.
Adkins added: "It's a challenge that we're going to be faced with.
"Hopefully Grant will do the right things and will be able to run around on Friday on the training field and be alright for Saturday."
