Rushden & Diamonds agree deal with Donovan Simmonds
Simmonds scored one goal for both Kilmarnock and Morton
Striker Donovan Simmonds has signed a short-term contract with Blue Square Bet Premier side Rushden & Diamonds.
The 21-year-old was released by Scottish club Greenock Morton at the end of last season, after scoring one goal in 14 games.
He told the club's website: "Obviously I like to score goals. Hopefully I'll score as many as I can whilst I'm here.
"I used to set targets when I was younger but now I just take every game as it comes."
He added: "For me as a striker, I like to run in the middle behind the defence and I'm a very quick and skilful player and a good finisher."
The forward started his career in the Charlton youth ranks and moved to Coventry in 2007, but failed to make an appearance for either side.
Loan spells at Gillingham and Kilmarnock were followed by a move to Maltese outfit Floriana until February this year, when he agreed a deal with Morton.
