Stone has seen Diamonds concede just three times in the last 10 games

Rushden and Diamonds assistant manager Michael Stone says their squad can still improve and secure a Blue Square Premier play-off place.

Diamonds signed a host of players last summer and currently lie fourth.

Stone told BBC Radio Northampton: "This is a relatively new squad and they're still getting better.

"The spirit in the squad gives them the belief they can win messy games. Even when they're not at their best, the mentality is not to concede a goal."

Stone added: "The more they get the taste for winning matches and having success, we hope we can secure a play-off place."
