Rushden boss Justin Edinburgh targets further progress
Edinburgh believes his young squad is making progress
Rushden and Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh has targeted more of the same in the second half of his team's Blue Square Premier campaign.
Diamonds go into the busy holiday period in eighth place on 36 points, five points away from a play-off spot.
"I think we'd take the same number of points in the second half of the season as we got in the first," Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton.
"That would put us in the play-offs and I'd be delighted with that."
Rushden face a tough task over Christmas and New Year with home-and-away matches against top-of-the-table Oxford United, either side of a home match with Kidderminster.
Edinburgh added: "I put the squad together in the summer and it's certainly developing.
"Against Billericay [in the FA Trophy earlier this month] we had eight players under the age of 23, and that bodes well for the future.
"I know the potential this group of players has got and I think they're starting to fulfil that now.
"If we continue to progress then we could do even better in the second half of the campaign."
