Rushden & Diamonds midfielder Rob Wolleaston says that he is targeting an immediate return to first team action.
The 29-year-old played against Daventry United in the Hillier Senior Cup in midweek after having been out since August with a knee injury.
"I'm confident in my ability. I don't see why I can't get into the team again," the former Oxford player told BBC Radio Northampton.
"But I've only had four training sessions. I might need another week."
Having watched the recent Diamonds performances, Wolleaston is sure that they will climb up the Blue Square Premier table.
"We've just not taken our chances. We're not playing the best, but if we get a good run, we'll be straight up there," he said.
Midfielder Nick McNamara also returned from a knee injury in the 5-2 win against Daventry, scoring twice.
