Burgess scored his first goals of the season against Altrincham

Rushden & Diamonds midfielder Andy Burgess has said he believes his side are close to moving into the play-off positions in the Blue Square Premier.

Burgess scored two goals in the 4-0 defeat at Altrincham, which lifted Rushden to ninth in the table.

"We're hanging on, we've just got to keep going and not worry about anybody else," he told BBC Radio Northampton.

"We've got a decent squad here, we've just got to push on and get consistency in our game."
